DEEP_Beyond the Surface

A work of art today is not limited to what is seen. It is the result of a complex process in which experience, memory, the unconscious, and planning coexist. Even when the gesture appears instinctive, as in abstraction or material experimentation, it is often the culmination of profound research, a vision that takes shape through the artist’s personal language.
From the historical avant-garde to contemporary practices, artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko, and Gerhard Richter have opened up new possibilities for interpreting images, demonstrating how art can exist beyond representation, becoming a mental, emotional, and perceptive space.
In this context, DEEP emerges as a meeting place for different languages—painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and design—united by a common striving for research and the creation of something beyond the visible. Representation isn’t necessary to communicate: what matters is the ability to transform an intuition into form, a thought into an image, an experience into matter.
The depth to which the title refers isn’t merely aesthetic, but perceptive. It’s what lies behind the image, what isn’t immediately legible, but what reveals itself over time, in the gaze, in the relationship between work and viewer. It’s in this dimension that contemporary art finds its most authentic strength.
DEEP – Beyond the Surface is not a simple group exhibition, but a curatorial project designed to showcase each artist as if it were a solo show, through a thoughtful approach, a critical vision, and a targeted communication strategy. Participating means entering a professional context where one’s work is carefully monitored, interpreted, and presented, with the aim of building real visibility and concrete opportunities.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

To participate, the following is required:

  • Payment of the participation fee
  • Submission of a biography and artist profile
  • Links to your social media channels
  • Completion of the curatorial form and mandate to sell (provided at the time of registration)
  • Works complete with suitable supports for installation

Works must be delivered and collected on the days indicated by the organizers, if not sold.

Il ritratto è un genere artistico che ha affascinato gli artisti di ogni epoca, spesso su richiesta dei protagonisti stessi che desideravano essere immortalati per la posterità. In altri casi, erano i pittori stessi a scegliere i soggetti, donando alla storia dell’arte dipinti indimenticabili e affascinanti. Il protagonista di cui voglio parlare è l’Artista Lemmy Gonthier che riattualizza il ritratto, trasformandolo in una rappresentazione di personaggi spesso immaginari, ma narrando emozioni e profondità che li rendono incredibilmente potenti , toccanti e reali.
Lemmy Gonthier , un talentuoso artista svizzero , si appropria dell’Espressionismo e regala al pubblico un’interpretazione affascinante. Nel suo lavoro, il ritratto diventa una parte importante della sua produzione artistica, un mezzo per narrare la complessità delle diversità umane, dei tratti del viso attraverso i quali si percepisce la fisiognomica, che deduce i caratteri psicologici e morali di una persona soprattutto dai lineamenti e dalle espressioni del volto ,anche le personali e uniche sensazioni e essenze, in cui i colori diventano tasti fondamentali per lasciar fuoriuscire le note dell’anima.
Nella maggior parte delle opere di Lemmy Gonthier i personaggi raffigurati scaturiscono dalla fantasia dell’artista eppure la sensazione che si ha guardandoli è che abbiano qualcosa di comune, di già visto, come se l’osservatore creda, chissà dove e chissà quando, di averli incontrati; questo perché davanti alle sensazioni, alle profondità, alle emozioni, non si può fare a meno di riconoscersi, di ritrovarsi. Dai ritratti fuoriesce il pensiero sottile di Lemmy Gonthier secondo il quale di fronte al sentire non esistono diversità, non esistono distanze bensì condivisione, comprensione, senso di appartenenza a un mondo interiore che unisce e abbatte ogni barriera.

Registration opens for the “RESPECT” CONTEMPORARY ART EVENT
From 01 to 14 November 2023 by Arch. Claudia Mantelli Art Curator “Doodle
Art” On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence
against Women of November 25, 2023, with “DOODLE ART”, I developed the idea of creating an event of Contemporary art against the abuse of women, entitled “RESPECT”. The Event will be held from 1 to 14 November 2023. During the “Respect” Event it was decided to dedicate the evening of Thursday 9 November 2023 at a conference open to the public on Violence against Woman who continues undaunted to claim victims through abuse, oppression, rape and brutal feminicides.
The Conference will be open to the public on the evening of November 9, 2023, from 6.30 to pm to 9.00 pm.

Cases of rape are much more widespread than you think: unfortunately they are not they are declining and are largely silenced. The people who suffer them are left, in eight cases out of ten, alone to manage the psychological and physical consequences. For this reason it rape, disturbing in itself, becomes unbearable and we’re not just talking of Italy but of Europe and the whole world!!! ..This is the reason for this
Event First Edition: interpret, make each individual more aware of the fact that it is not possible continue like this. Every Woman (individual, child, living creature included) must not be the object of sadism, of lascivious and violent attitudes of all kinds: RESPECT is needed….

of different sizes of exhibition space depending on their works of art and the results exhibitions that you want to obtain, always in agreement with the Art Curator Claudia Mantelli. Yes require: -Short Biography / Curriculum -Image of the Works to be exhibited in jpg format with minimum resolution 300 dpi. – Indication of the prices of the Works of Art on the “Mandate to sell which will be sent by the Curator. (prices possibly agreed upon with the Art Curator Claudia Mantelli). The percentage on the sale is 40%, possibly negotiable with the Art Curator – Payment receipt for participation fee of Euro …

-With regards to conceptual, sculpture or design installations on the ground, the spaces
they are each 200 X 200 cm. .
-In the case of smaller Sculptures, Sculptors or Designers, the Works will be exhibited on any supports in agreement with Claudia Mantelli.
-Each work to be displayed hanging must be supplied with “hangers”, triangles or rope, or aluminium, as it will have to be hung on chains.
In the event that the Artist wishes to associate with the
Doodle Art, the fee will be only 30 Euros more, instead of 50 Euros.
-The Works of Art must arrive at Palazzo Seicentro, P.zza Berlinguer,
Via Savona 99, 20144, Milan.. on 1, 2 November 2023 from 10:30.

  • Collection of the Works by the Artist on November 14, 2023 from 10:00 to
    6.30pm
    -In the event that the Artist sends delicate Works, it is advisable to insure them.
    Works of Art will be accepted from Couriers with reservations for the safety of the Artist.
    The fee includes: -Temporary Interior Design intervention to transform the
    Palazzo Seicentro in an original and refined exhibition setting by the architect.

    Social
    -Opening hours: from 09.00 to 20.00
    -Presence of the Curator from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm, including weekends.
